We spent this afternoon tearing out all of the interior “stuff” from the bus!
Took down the paneling on the ceiling and walls, removed the old insulation, did a lot of sweeping and shop-vac-ing and we’re thrilled with the condition of the ceiling and the back floor. The front floor is going to need to be replaced.
We removed the panels on the driver’s and passenger’s doors and took the seats out to make reupholstering easier. Sean’s allergic to the horsehair, so it has to go.
We’re slightly confused as the interior roof appears to be welded (poorly) where it would typically lift for the Westfalia top, but from the outside, not so much! Going to do some research and see what we can do. While it isn’t critical, it certainly would be nice for the extra headspace and storage that the pop-up could provide.
It was a fun afternoon and it was nice to really get in there and get to work!
